For the love of Sherry

The Basque tradition of the pinxtos taverna is a space where locals come together as a community to snack on small plates of pintxos, tell stories, and enjoy a drink, specifically one of Jerez’s best; the Sherry.

A fortified wine made from white grapes grown near the city of Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia in Spain, Sherry is produced in a variety of styles made primarily from the Palomino grape, ranging from light versions, such as Manzanilla and fino, to darker and heavier versions that have been allowed to oxidise as they age in barrel, such as Amontillado and oloroso. Sweet dessert wines are also made from Pedro Ximénez (PX) or Moscatel grapes.

Lennox and the Gildas team invite you in for a bite to eat and a sherry – it’s is an incredibly versatile wine with food, and should be enjoyed in the true Iberian spirit; seated at the bar, surrounded by people, with shared, simple, delicious food.
