Taco lovers, this one is for you – a little taste of Mexico in Surry Hills

On Saturday 28 June, we’re handing over the kitchen at Gildas for a one-day-only lunch fiesta with taco maestro Chef Lex Wong – straight from the flames of our sister restaurant, Firedoor. Lex, formerly of the acclaimed Yang’s Ramen and Tacos in Castlecrag, Yang’s Food Truck (Time Out’s Best Food Truck 2015), and Yang & Co, brings his signature fire-driven inventive take on tacos to the table. These are guaranteed not to be your average tacos.  

Expect a tuna ceviche tostada with leche de tigre, bunya nut sherry miso, smoked tomato and capers, a saffron tortilla reimagining paella, with chorizo, mussels, squid, sofrito and puffed wild rice, and an epic chicken tortilla with mole and more. 

For dessert, enjoy a ‘dos leches’ popcorn soft serve with dulce de leche and potato chips. 

Pair your tacos with our special Margarita ‘Clarita’ combining a refreshing blend of tequila, triple sec, bitter curaçao. 

Expect a lot of flavour and fun. Round up your friends and come down join the party on the corner of Albion Street.
